It can ring phones on cue... and provide a phone-to-phone talk-path!
This unassuming little device, does something quite useful. It can ring phones on cue... and provide a phone-to-phone talk-path! One just plug two phones into the device. Whichever is picked up first, rings the other... and talk-path is established! We presently have two of these available for rent.

Two new industrial controls now in stock. These can be rigged by PROPOLOGY for self-contained, battery powered operation,
to illuminate the large LED indicators. An uncommonly attractive personal computer for the time...
especially amongst the ubiquitous "beige boxes" of the day. A classic, tabletop model Trinitron! This is a functional set, and can display analogue, and analogue converted digital content. Recently, the PROPOLOGY rental department was asked to provide a selection of tools and simulated explosives material to the TV series, ARROW. PROPOLOGY usually has a good selection of simulated explosives material and related tools and equipment for rental. We can also custom manufacture anything required in this area. Since this was an important and fairly complex item to produce (especially on a tight schedule) the ARROW Prop Department wisely decided to split the work between two vendors... PROPOLOGY & IRL CREATIVE The television series ARROW needed a custom device that purportedly sensed motion, was small, and would send an alarm signal wirelessly. The solution provided, featured a yellow LED that could be flashed on cue, via wireless remote control. The overall length of the device was approximately 3.5". The TV series ARROW needed an interesting bench-top type specimen scanner device. Since this was to appear as an example of cutting-edge technology, we were provided the opportunity to explore a novel design. PROPOLOGY has a wide selection of access control devices available for rental. All are rigged for standalone, simulated operation. If required, these can be altered cosmetically, to meet specific production requirements.
Foreground item: An anti-molstation device known as a SONICGUARD. Designed for female joggers, the unit produces a 110DB siren shriek when activated. Two of these were purchased on spec about 20 years ago, and have languished in inventory ever since.
Background item: The same item… recently repurposed… as a "radio detonator unit." The slide-switch (which formally controlled a flashlight function) "arms" the device (sliding the switch downward reveals a flashing LED indicator). Pressing the adjacent pushbutton, causes the LED to stop flashing, and increase in brightness… ostensively transmitting the detonation signal. This kind of repurposing is fairly common plaice in prop building… especially if your client is on a tight schedule and/or budget. We always like to hang on to nondescript objects like the SONICGUARD, because of their utility. Having interesting objects on hand that posses useful attributes (working switches, LEDs, battery chambers, etc.) can same valuable build time… and keep costs down. This unit is provided with cable connected power & remote control. Conversion to RF wireless operation is possible. Simulated backlit screen can be fitted with custom translucent graphics to suit production need. Several versions (including non-functional doubles) are available that include internally powered, and externally powered types, as well as the choice of either BLUE or RED backlighting. Features self contained operation. LED indicator can be changed from red (access denied), to green (access granted), via a small radio remote control.
Made mostly from aluminium, this weapon is an impressive 43" long, and features animated LED lighting. It also breaks down into smaller components for transport. New Rental Inventory: Industrial Control Box With Mushroom-Head Pushbutton and Red Indicator12/7/2014 The MINOX subminiature camera was used extensively for clandestine operations throughout the world for over 40 years. No other camera available could match its durability, performance, and diminutive size,
until high-performance digital versions became available. This example was manufactured in 1969, and featured manual and automatic exposure control, as well as a whisper-quiet shutter. Special 16mm film was loaded via a "drop-in" cartridge. PROPOLOGY has a supply of "dummy" film cartridges, and an actual MINOX developing tank. This novel item, automatically unspools film from the cartridge case… then into the tank for developing. Need something iconic to define the period of your production?
PROPOLOGY has a wide variety of operational POLAROID cameras in our rental inventory, ranging from circa 1957 to 2000. Many can be supplied with newly manufactured POLAROID film, from the company, IMPOSSIBLE FILM PROJECT. They regularly stock film for type 660, SX-70, and Spectra, POLAROID cameras. We've a good variety of vintage microphones in our inventory. Most originated from the 60's, but we do have a few older examples,
as shown here. Miniature reel-to-reel tape recorders were a staple of spy themed television in the 1960's. This particular example, was see in many popular programs of the day, including MISSION IMPOSSIBLE, and the cult British TV series, THUNDERBIRDS . This Acme 1500 is fully functional, and ready to rent from PROPOLOGY.
Features wireless remote control of the front and rear facing LED indicators. Remote functions include "ON", "OFF", "RED", or "FLASHING GREEN". Originally, custom modified for the TV series ARROW, these units are now available to rent (2-available). Lightweight (easy to mount with double-face tape) with an internally-powered, flashing, LED indicator. 3-units are available. |

We Need Your Input
It's our goal to create an archive that showcases our prop building history. Our company, formally known as MOLNAR MOTION PICTURE PROPS, INC., has produced countless items since its creation in 1987. Much of our earliest prop builds still exist, and can be found in various prop rental houses, or in the hands of private collectors. If you know the current whereabouts of, or can provide any production anecdotes pertaining to any of the items listed in the early posts, please let us know. We will expand upon the archive on a ongoing basis as information becomes available. We appreciate your valuable contribution! Archives
