Description
Circa Early 1990's to Early 2000's
A custom movie prop manufactured by PROPOLOGY.ca featuring simulated functionality. Its design closely resembles that of the authentic reference device.
Intended to portray a sophisticated programmable radio detonator. Its features include:
- Backlit Membrane Switch Keypad.
- Microprocessor Controlled LED Indicator Sequencing.
- Interchangeable BNC Mount Antenna.
Pratical Functions:
This device is notionally capable of user selected triggering of connected devices ("SELECT FIRE")—but it has been built to only perform the triggering of all connected devices (ALL FIRE")—as this was the only requirement necessary for its original scripted purpose.
Operation:
"STANBY/READY MODE": Turn the black rotary switch clockwise to power-up and initiate a self-check. All yellow LED's illuminate, then blink twice to confirm communication with active detonator receivers.
Press "ARM ALL": This extinguishes the yellow "STANDBY" LED's and illuminates all 8 red "ARMED" LED's. The red LED above "FIRE ALL" begins flashing—signifying that the unit is now armed.
Press "FIRE-ALL": This causes all 8 "ARMED" LED's flash twice and extinguish—signifying that the selected devices have received a trigger signal.
Historical Significance:
This custom prop was originally built for the Chris Carter TV series MILLENNIUM—specifically for use in the season 2 episode titled ROOSTERS (1998)— where it was only seen briefly.
