Circa Early 1970's

Suitable for amateur use, learning institutions and law enforcement applications (video interviews and evidence gathering).

  • Black and White Video: The VC-115 is a black and white camera, designed to be used with compatible Akai VTRs (Video Tape Recorders) like the VT-110 system.

  • C-Mount Interchangeable Lens: Unlike some other Akai cameras of the period, the VC-115 is equipped with an interchangeable lens system, allowing for flexibility in optics (available separately).

  • Pistol-grip Handle: It features a removable pistol-grip handle for handheld operation, providing ergonomic support.

  • Built-in Microphone: The camera includes a built-in 600-ohm microphone for audio recording.

  • CRT Viewfinder: It utilizes a one-inch CRT viewfinder for monitoring and focusing, with a red LED indicating recording mode.

  • External Power Requirement: The camera requires horizontal and vertical sync pulses supplied by the VCR it's connected to, as the VCR also supplies the camera's power.

  • Tube Pickup: The VC-115 employs a tube pickup system for image capture, characteristic of cameras from that era.
