This fixture is a high-output "workhorse" designed for versatility across several production environments:

• Professional Film & TV Sets: Its high output (equivalent to a 2,000W tungsten light) and color accuracy (CRI ≥95) make it ideal as a key light for interviews or narrative scenes.

• Run-and-Gun & On-Location Shoots: Because it can be powered by V-Mount or Gold Mount batteries, it is frequently used in remote areas where AC power is unavailable, such as woods or open fields.

• Photography Studios: Photographers use it as a continuous light source for portraits and product photography, benefiting from the industry-standard Bowens Mount which fits a wide range of softboxes and beauty dishes.

• Live Productions & Stages: Its robust aluminum construction is designed to handle the rigors of stage life and live performances.

• Overpowering Natural Light: The high intensity allows creators to use it outdoors to fill in shadows or even overpower the sun when used with high-efficiency reflectors or Fresnel lenses.

• Color Temperature: Fixed at 5500K (Daylight-balanced).

• Brightness: Equivalent to a traditional 2,000W tungsten light, but only draws 300W of power.

• Color Accuracy: Exceptional ratings with a CRI ≥95 and TLCI ≥96, ensuring natural skin tones and accurate colors.

• Mounting: Uses an industry-standard Bowens-S mount, making it compatible with a vast ecosystem of softboxes, fresnels, and other modifiers.

• Cooling: Features an ultra-quiet fan that intelligently adjusts its speed based on internal temperature sensors.

• LS C300d Light Head: The main LED fixture with an integrated yoke and Bowens mount.

• Control Box: An intuitive unit for adjusting brightness and remote channels.

• Power Ballast: A separate unit that converts AC power for the light (in this original version, the ballast and controller are two separate pieces).

• Standard Reflector: A Bowens-mount dish that focuses the light to a 60∘ beam angle.

• Wireless Remote Control: A 2.4 GHz remote with a range of up to 492 feet for power and dimming control.

• Connecting Cables: Typically includes 5-pin and 4-pin XLR cables to link the head, controller, and ballast.

Historical Significance:

The APUTURE Light Storm LS C300d was officially launched in October 2017. It first debuted at the NAB 2017 trade show, where it was recognized as the "Best Lighting Product" before becoming available for purchase later that year.
