Description
Circa 1993
Use Case:
Primarily used in small offices and businesses that required the management of multiple incoming phone lines. Users could manage two separate lines, place calls on hold using the "HOLD" button, use "CONF" for conferencing calls, and dial hands-free with the "SPKR" (speakerphone) function. The programmable gray buttons allowed for speed dialing or quick access to PBX (Private Branch Exchange) system features.
Historical Significance:
A ubiquitous piece of business equipment during the transition period from analog to early digital telecommunications systems. It represents the robust, reliable equipment manufactured by the BELL SYSTEM's WESTERN ELECTRIC arm and its successors, providing relatively advanced multi-line functionality before the widespread adoption of more complex, integrated VoIP (Voice over IP) systems used today.
NOTE: Can be used with the VIKING DLE-200B Two-Way Phone Line Simulator that provides on-set talk-path and ringing capabilities (available separately)—2-Phones available.
