Origins & History:
- Introduced: The first Competition Pro 5000 model debuted in 1983.
- Design: It was inspired by industrial and arcade controls, featuring a square base, two large fire buttons (for ambidextrous use), and a robust metal-sprung stick.
- Corporate Evolution: Originally produced in the UK, the design was later manufactured and licensed by various companies, including SUZO (as the Prof Competition 5000) and HAPP CONTROLS.
