Custom 2-D-Cell to 6V Adapter Cartridge (Provides Higher Than Normal Voltage to Re-Lamped Flashlights)

This custom manufactured adapter lets you swap out old, dim flashlight bulbs for brighter, high-voltage versions. It replaces two standard D-cell batteries (3V total) with a single cartridge holding two PL123A batteries (6V total), doubling the power to support high-output bulbs.

Additional flexibility is possible with the inclusion of dummy "pass-through" batteries (available separately). These do not provide power in themselves, but instead allow the power to flow between the installed live batteries—while physically replacing a normally required live D-cell battery.

Each D-cell normally provides 1.5V, while the adapter cartridge provides 6V. By mixing live cartridges and dummy cells in a multi-D-cell flashlight, you can create the following combinations:

2-D-Cell Flashlights

6 Volts: 1 Adapter cartridge.

• Setup: The cartridge fills the entire battery compartment.

• Result: Doubles the original 3V to 6V for high-output bulbs.

3-D-Cell Flashlights

6 Volts: 1 Adapter cartridge + 1 Dummy D-cell.

• Setup: The cartridge takes the space of 2 D-cells; the dummy fills the 3rd slot.

• Result: Increases the original 4.5V to 6V.

4-D-Cell Flashlights

6 Volts: 1 Adapter cartridge + 2 Dummy D-cells.

• Setup: One live cartridge and two dummies to fill the 4-cell length.

• Result: Provides 6V in a large 4-cell body.

12 Volts: 2 Adapter cartridges.

• Setup: Two cartridges fill the entire 4-cell compartment.

• Result: Doubles the original 6V to 12V as described in your text.

6-D-Cell Flashlights

12 Volts: 2 Adapter cartridges + 2 Dummy D-cells.

• Result: Converts the original 9V to 12V.

18 Volts: 3 Adapter cartridges.

• Setup: Three cartridges fill the entire 6-cell compartment.

• Result: Triples the original 6V to 18V for extreme specialty modifications.
