Description

Circa 1980's to 1990's

A specialized control panel designed to provide visual and audible alerts regarding specific conditions or "troubles" within a building or system.

Custom Functions:

  • Large illuminated indicators—with some controllable via the panel switches.
  • Powered by 12-volt DC with the included AC power adaptor (or via a potable 12-volt DC battery pack—available separately).

Purpose:

  • Centralized Monitoring:It consolidates status indications from various points or zones within a facility, eliminating the need to physically check each location.

  • Rapid Identification:The unit, through indicators like LEDs and/or an audible alarm, quickly draws attention to a specific problem area or triggered event.

  • Enhanced Situational Awareness: It provides a clear, at-a-glance overview of the system's operational status, facilitating faster decision-making during emergencies or malfunctions.

Use Cases:

  • Building Security Systems: Monitoring access points (Main Entry, North Entry, South Entry, Main Gate), the status of security devices (Mag Locks, Alarm Bells), and different building sections (East Wing, West Wing, Res 1, Res 2) for breaches or malfunctions.

  • Fire Alarm Systems:While typically a subset, a custom annunciator can indicate specific fire zones or conditions in areas like the Math Bldg, Gym, or Plant, assisting first responders in locating the source of an alarm.

  • Building Management & Automation:Monitoring operational parameters of equipment in areas like the "Plant" or "U/G" (Underground) for faults or critical status changes, such as power supply issues or equipment malfunctions.

  • Emergency Response Coordination: Providing a quick and clear display of trouble locations to building staff or emergency personnel, enabling a more efficient and targeted response in various emergency scenarios.
