Description
A custom movie prop manufactured by PROPOLOGY.ca.
The design features a twisted yellow lead wire pair (known as "leg wires") connected to a crimped aluminum tube. These are completely inert replicas.
Use Cases:
- Commercial Demolition: Used by professional blasters to take down large structures (like stadiums or high-rises). The yellow wires are a common industrial color code for high visibility against concrete and debris.
- Open-Pit Mining and Quarrying: These are the primary "matchsticks" used to trigger large-scale bench blasts. In the real world, hundreds of these would be wired together in a complex "daisy chain" (series circuit) back to a blasting machine.
- Military EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal): Used by technicians as a standard component for "rendering safe" or counter-charging unexploded ordnance (UXO). An EOD tech might tape one of these to a found shell to detonate it from a safe distance.
- Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs): In a tactical context, these are the critical "bridge" between a power source (like a cell phone or timer) and the main explosive charge (like a block of C4). They represent the point where an electrical signal becomes a physical explosion.
- Seismic Exploration: Used in the oil and gas industry to create small, controlled underground "thumps" that allow geologists to map rock formations using sonar-like technology.
