A high-end and feature-rich camera at the time of its manufacture—suited for advanced amateur, institutional and professional use.
- Lens and Focusing: Elmo Zoom f/1.2, F: 7-42 mm (6x zooming ratio), split image rangefinder, macro focusing, auto and manual zooming with two speeds, 67mm filter size.
- Exposure and Filming: Auto and manual exposure control (TTL EE) with backlight control and exposure compensation, auto film speed setting for 25/40 and 100/160 ASA (daylight/tungsten), built-in 85A CCA filter, variable 220-degree shutter opening angle, auto fade-in/fade-out, automatic lap-dissolve, filming speeds of 6, 18, 24, 54 fps, and single frame.
- Sound and Connectivity: Double-system sound recording on a synchronized tape recorder (like the Elmo DR1 or SR1), sound and remote control sockets, and a built-in pulse generator for flash synchronization (animation illumination).
- Other notable features: Retractable handle, DC micromotor for film drive, powered by 6x AA batteries, built-in interval timer (time lapse—0.6 to 30 seconds), and a film reverse function (double exposure effects).
