Description
Circa Late 1990's
Professional-grade, multi-format Camera Control Unit. It was a workhorse in the broadcast and professional video industry, designed to provide centralized control and processing for high-quality studio and field production cameras. 2-units available.
Use Cases:
The CCU-500 was designed for high-end professional environments:
- Live Broadcast Studios: Its primary role was in television studios for news, talk shows, and live events, where a technical operator (or "shader") would adjust the camera's image parameters from the control room.
- Outside Broadcast (OB) Vans: It was a key component in mobile production trucks used for covering live sports, concerts, and remote events.
- Electronic Field Production (EFP): Used for high-quality multi-camera productions shot on location, such as corporate videos, commercials, and music videos, where a "film-like" look was desired.
- System Integration: It was often part of a larger Ikegami camera system, including cameras, remote control panels (RCPs), and base station adapters (BSAs).
Compatible Cameras:
- Ikegami HK-323P: A very popular 2/3-inch 3-CCD SD studio/field camera.
- Ikegami HK-327P: Similar to the HK-323P, often used as a robotoic/POV camera.
- Ikegami HK-329P: A high-performance version of the above.
- Ikegami HK-371P/HK-377P: These were the "Film Style" cameras in the series, featuring a different internal block design but still fully compatible with the CCU-500. They were prized for their exceptional picture quality and dynamic range.
