Description
Circa Late 1990's to Early 2000's
A custom movie prop manufactured by PROPOLOGY.ca featuring simulated functionality. Designed to portray a wireless handheld device that provides Master Control of a localized network of automatic doors.
Practical Features:
- Individual pushbutton control of red and green LED indicators.
Use Cases:
- Healthcare Facilities: Allowing nurses or security to open wide-swing automatic doors manually from a distance.
- Loading Docks: Managing high-speed roll-up doors without leaving a vehicle.
- Clean Rooms: Controlling interlocking doors where physical touch needs to be minimized.
High-Security Environments:
In a high-security context (such as a laboratory, data center, or government facility), this unit provides three critical layers of security:
- Controlled Entry Verification: Security personnel use these units to manually trigger doors only after visually verifying an individual's identity or credentials.
- Emergency Overrides: In the event of a security breach or emergency, this unit can bypass standard schedules to instantly lock down a specific zone or, conversely, hold doors open for first responders.
- Interlock Management: In clean rooms or high-security mantrap systems, this controller can ensure that "Door B" cannot be opened until "Door A" is confirmed closed and locked.
