These accessories are designed primarily for Nikon F-mount SLR cameras. While the PB-6 features a standard Nikon F mount at the camera end, certain considerations apply:
- Broad Compatibility: The PB-6 and PS-6 are compatible with a wide range of Nikon F-mount SLR cameras, including older manual focus and early autofocus models.
- Bulkier Cameras: Some larger F-mount cameras, especially those with built-in or optional battery packs (like the F5, F100, or D100), may require a Bellows Spacer PB-6D or an extension tube (e.g., PK-12 or PK-13) to provide sufficient clearance for mounting to the PB-6 rail.
- Modern DSLR and Mirrorless Cameras: Nikon PB-6 bellows can also be adapted for use with modern Nikon DSLRs and even mirrorless cameras (like the Z series) using appropriate adapters, such as the FTZ adapter for Z-series cameras, to bridge the F-mount to the camera body.
- Lenses: The PS-6 is ideally suited for use with a 55mm Micro Nikkor lens, though other lenses can be used, potentially requiring additional accessories or adaptations for optimal performance and coverage.
