- The FB-11A was designed to carry a full system of professional Nikon equipment, including SLR bodies, motor drives, and several lenses. The cameras of this era, particularly the F2 (produced 1971–1980) and F3 (introduced 1980), were well-suited for a bag of this size (Also suitable for other brands of similar equipment).
- Made of high-quality cowhide leather, the FB-11A was typical of the premium, durable accessory cases of the period.
