Description
Circa 1990's
A rack-mounted breaker and power-distribution panel from a NORTEL fiber-optic SONET transmission bay, as used in telephone-company central offices and carrier network rooms.
Use Case:
- Circuit Protection: It features eight independent "Supplementary Protector" on/off switches that function as circuit breakers to protect individual sub-systems from overcurrent.
- System Alarms: The right side of the panel includes a specialized alarm interface with indicator lights (visible as "Power," "Critical," "Major," "Minor") and a master "ALM CUT OFF" button. This allows technicians to quickly identify and silence faults within a complex equipment rack.
- Modular Accessibility: The panel has a novel hinged design where the right side can open first, allowing for easier maintenance and wiring access in densely packed server environments.
Suitable For:
- Server Rooms
- Data Centers
- Network Operations Centers (NOC)
- Telecom Switching Rooms
- Power/Utility Control Rooms
- Lab and Engineering Sets
- Near-Future Tech Dressing
