Description
Circa Early 2000's
A 150 watt-second (ws) professional monolight strobe designed for studio photography. Introduced around 2008, it was marketed as a high-quality, entry-to-mid-level lighting solution for photographers needing a self-contained unit that plugs into standard AC outlets.
Use Cases:
Primarily used in small to medium-sized studio setups for:
- Portraiture: Often sold in kits with umbrellas or softboxes, it provides enough power for individual or small group portraits.
- Product Photography: The stepless power adjustment and small 16"x20" softbox compatibility make it ideal for tabletop product shoots.
- Hair and Accent Lighting: In larger professional studios, these lower-wattage units are frequently used as dedicated hair lights or to create background separation.
Specifications:
- Flash Power: Steplessly adjustable from 1/8 to full power (12 ws to 150 ws).
- Modeling Light: Features a 60-watt variable-power modeling lamp with an independent on/off switch.
- Color Temperature: Daylight-balanced at approximately 5500K.
- Recycle Time: Approximately 3 seconds at full power.
- Triggering: Includes a built-in photocell for wireless slaving, a standard 1/8" sync jack for wired connection, and a manual test button.
