Description
Circa Late 1980's to Late 1990's
Use Cases:
Operates by detecting changes in infrared energy (heat signatures) in its field of view. When a person or large animal moves within range, the sensor triggers, sending a signal to a central control unit or receiver. This is the most common type of sensor for:
- Security Alarms: Triggering a siren or sending an alert to a monitoring station when an intruder is detected.
- Automation/Lighting: Automatically turning on lights, security cameras, or other devices when someone enters a room or area, and turning them off when motion stops (saving energy).
- Driveway/Entry Alert Systems: Sending a chime or notification to a receiver inside a building when a person or vehicle enters a property.
NOTE: Can be rigged for self-contained operation to provide an operational sensor and LED indicator—at client request.
