Description
Circa Early 2000's
Used to remotely trigger pyrotechnics, fireworks, and special effects.
Device Functions and Interface:
This specific unit is a "distributed" 1-channel receiver, meaning one box is typically used per individual firework or effect.
- 3-Position Switch (TEST/OFF/FIRE): This is the primary safety control.
- TEST/SYNC: Allows the user to check if the igniter (e-match) is correctly wired without firing it.
- A Green LED indicates a closed, healthy circuit.
- OFF: Powers down the unit for safe handling.
- FIRE (ARM): Arms the device, making it ready to receive a radio signal and ignite the attached pyro.
- LEARN Button: Used to pair the module with a handheld remote. Holding this button until the LED flashes allows it to "sync" to a specific button on a 1, 4, or 12-channel remote control (a single button remote is included).
- SIGNAL LED: Displays the status of the unit. It can show Green for a successful continuity test, Orange when armed and ready, or Red to indicate a low battery or a firing pulse being sent.
- Quick-Connect Terminals: The red and black spring-loaded terminals are where the wires of an electric igniter (e-match or Talon igniter) are inserted.
Use Cases:
- Professional Pyrotechnics: Used for precisely timed fireworks displays where individual shells must be fired from different locations.
- Airsoft and Paintball: Often used as a wireless "IED" or booby trap prop. Players hide the unit and attach a smoke grenade or small flash-bang (like a Mark V) to it, triggering it remotely when an opponent is nearby.
- Film Special Effects: Used by SFX technicians to safely trigger small explosions, squibs, or smoke effects from a distance during filming.
- Rocketry: Functions as a wireless launch controller for model rockets, allowing the operator to stand at a safe distance during ignition.
NOTE: Fully operational device—2-Units available.
