Description
Circa 1980's
A precision laboratory instrument used to measure the hydrogen ion activity (acidity or alkalinity) of liquid solutions.
Use Case:
Primarily used in research and development facilities, university laboratories, and medical settings. It is typically part of a larger titration workstation used for accurate aerobic or anaerobic titrations. The PHM82 can function as a standalone meter or serve as the measuring "brain" for an automated titration system when connected to a TTT 80 Titrator (available separately) and an ABU 80 Autoburette.
Historical Significance:
Produced by RADIOMETER, a company founded in 1935 that pioneered electrochemical and blood gas analysis instrumentation. The TTT 80 was a key component in early automated titration systems, allowing for precise control where the delivery rate of titrant is lowered as the sample's pH nears the final value to ensure high accuracy and shorter titration times.
NOTE: A compatible companion device—RADIOMETER COPENHAGEN TTT 80 Titrator—is available separately.
