Description

Circa 1980's

A laboratory instrument designed to automate titrations by regulating the addition of titrant to a sample to reach a fixed end-point. Titration is the process of automatically and precisely measuring the concentration of a substance in a liquid sample.

Use Case:

Primarily used in research and development facilities, university laboratories, and medical settings. It is typically part of a larger titration workstation used for accurate aerobic or anaerobic titrations. It must be connected to an external pH meter (like the PHM 82—available separately) and an autoburette (like the ABU 80) to function.

Historical Significance:

Produced by RADIOMETER, a company founded in 1935 that pioneered electrochemical and blood gas analysis instrumentation. The TTT 80 was a key component in early automated titration systems, allowing for precise control where the delivery rate of titrant is lowered as the sample's pH nears the final value to ensure high accuracy and shorter titration times.

NOTE: A compatible companion device—RADIOMETER COPENHAGEN PHM82 Standard pH Meter—is available separately.
