Description
Circa 2016
An 8-output directional signal tap used for distributing RF signals in cable television (CATV) and broadband communication networks.
Use Cases:
- Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs): Ideal for distributing cable TV and high-speed internet to up to eight individual apartments or units from a single entry point.
- Commercial & Institutional Buildings: Used in schools, hotels, and office complexes to provide simultaneous access to a central cable feed for multiple rooms or workstations.
- Main Line Signal Distribution: Taps are installed along a main "hardline" feeder cable. They take a small portion of the signal (attenuated by 14 dB) for local "drops" to homes while passing the bulk of the signal further down the line with minimal loss.
- Signal Balancing for Unequal Cable Runs: Taps are used when cable runs to different rooms vary significantly in length. By placing a tap on a shorter run, you can ensure that devices at both the short and long ends receive roughly the same signal strength.
- Outdoor Network Infrastructure: Designed for durability, these units are mounted on utility poles or in pedestals to handle harsh environmental conditions while maintaining network integrity.
NOTE: 5-Units available.
