Description
Circa 1994
A personal digital assistant (PDA) manufactured by Casio, which sold similar models under different branding, like the "Secret Sender 6000".
Use Case
The IR7000 was primarily aimed at a younger demographic as an electronic organizer and communication device, before the ubiquity of smartphones.
- Communication: Its core feature was infrared (IR) "Magic Beam" technology, allowing users to send secret text messages or notes to other IR7000 users within close proximity.
- Personal Organizer: It provided standard PDA functions, including storing addresses and phone numbers in a "Friends" list, a calendar, scheduler, alarm clock, world map, and calculator.
- Gaming: It included a built-in one- or two-player action game called "Brain Drain". Users could create custom "Faces" for their contacts using over 400 facial features, and these faces were used as characters in the game.
