Use Case:
A rugged, gun-style handheld computer designed for intensive data collection in tough enterprise environments. Its use cases included:
- Warehouse and Logistics Management: For inventory control, tracking assets, picking orders, and managing shipments on loading docks.
- Manufacturing: Used for tracking production processes and finished goods inventory.
- Field Service: Its durability and wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi and optional cellular data) allowed mobile workers real-time access to information in the field.
- Retail Backroom Operations: Used for stock-taking, inventory checks, and managing stock levels.
It offered integrated high-performance 1D laser barcode scanning (available in different ranges) or 2D imaging options, a monochrome touchscreen display, and a physical keypad for data entry.
Runs on one of two Microsoft operating systems designed for mobile and embedded devices: Microsoft Windows CE .NET 4.2 or Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003
This device was later rebranded as a Motorola and eventually a Zebra product.
