Description
Circa Mid 1980's to Early 1990's
A tabletop composite curing system used to harden light-activated resins.
Use Cases:
- Dental Clinics: Used for "chair-side" procedures, such as curing composite fillings, orthodontic brackets, and dental sealants directly in a patient's mouth.
- Dental Laboratories: Used by technicians to cure custom trays, denture base repairs, and laboratory-processed composite veneers or crowns.
- Hobbyist/Industrial: Occasionally repurposed for small-scale 3D resin printing post-curing or specialized adhesive bonding due to its steady tabletop power supply.
Safety:
Always use amber-colored eye protection or a protective shield. The blue light emitted can cause permanent retinal damage with direct exposure.
Replaceable Halogen Bulb:
If the light appears dim, the internal halogen bulb may be nearing the end of its life (typically 50–100 hours of active use) and should be replaced.
