Description
Circa 1950's to Early 1960's
A vintage industrial-grade "hand lamp" designed for high-intensity, long-range illumination. Built for high-stakes, industrial, and emergency environments
Designed as a specialized alternative to standard flashlights and intended for professionals who needed a massive, reliable beam in harsh conditions.
This specific model incorporates rechargeable lead-acid batteries and an integrated AC battery charger—making it a precursor to modern emergency lighting systems.
Use Cases:
- Emergency & Fire Safety: These were standard equipment for firefighters navigating smoke-filled or dark buildings. The heavy steel construction and high candlepower made them "lifelines" during outages and rescues.
- Railroads & Marine: Used by train conductors and crew for signaling at night and by yachtsmen as portable floodlights. The adjustable head allowed for precise beam placement in open, windy, or wet environments.
- Infrastructure & Utilities: Ideal for electricians, linemen, and public works teams performing equipment repairs in tunnels, warehouses, or remote agricultural sites.
- Subterranean & Hazardous Zones: Specifically engineered for subterranean bunkers (like Canada’s Diefenbunker) and areas with potentially flammable gases. They guided personnel through windowless underground facilities during total power failures.
- Industrial Maintenance: A staple for contractors and warehouse workers who required a "practically indestructible" light source that could withstand impacts and severe weather.
NOTE: Battery charger unit can be temporarily removed at client request. Unit possesses its original incandescent PAR-36 sealed beam lamp, and has not been upgraded to modern standards.
