The Erika 10 is a highly-regarded manual portable typewriter, known for its exceptional build quality and smooth typing action. It was designed for use in homes and offices and was considered a top-tier machine for writers and general correspondence during its era.

Use Case

The Erika 10 was a robust and reliable typewriter intended for general-purpose typing. It features a solid metal construction, often with cast alloy panels where competitors used cheaper alternatives, making it a durable option that has lasted for decades.

  • Portability: Despite its all-metal body and sturdy build, it was designed as a portable machine and came with a dedicated carrying case, allowing it to be moved easily between locations.

  • Functionality: It offered standard features such as a tabulator, margin release, and the ability to type in red or black ink, making it versatile for various document types.

  • Typing Experience: The machine is highly praised by enthusiasts for its precise German engineering and delightful, snappy typing action, considered one of the best among portable typewriters.

Included Accessories:

  • Original 12-Piece Ericka 10 Maintenance Kit.
  • Original Erica 10 Carrying Case.

PLEASE NOTE: Uses a standard 1/2-inch (12.7 mm) wide universal typewriter ribbon, specifically the DIN 2103 type. The original spools from the era of the typewriter are no longer produced, however, modern nylon fabric ribbons on new plastic spools are readily available from various online retailers and typewriter specialty stores.
