From the TV series ANDROMEDA
Three identical units were produced.
All were cast from molds derived from a master positive, made on a rapid prototyping machine.

Production specified that each was to have the ability to attach magnetically. Three rare-earth magnets were embedded in the underside of each unit.

When pressed, the red, translucent pushbutton illuminates, via a high-output incandescent bulb.
This was chosen over an LED to ensure that the recess around the switch would be illuminated.
This is how the prop appears today in the hands of private collector "docholl" who posted this image on "YourProps" with the caption: "Magnetic mine as used through out the entire series. This one retains it's season 5 paint scheme".
