Tabletop Scanning Electron Microscope (Self-Contained/Simulated Operation)
Circa 2013

Design is based upon existing tabletop SEMs made by Hitachi and Nikon.
Main dimensions
Specimen chamber open. This is achieved automatically, via pushbutton control. The two large "X" and "Y" control dials can be used to simulate precision positioning of the specimen during imaging.
Specimen chamber features dimensioned.
Controls are provided for opening and closing the specimen chamber, simulating evacuation of atmosphere, and initiating the scan. Pressing the "X" or "Y" positioning control will toggle the scale display (I''''I''''I) from "COURSE" to "FINE" adjustment.
The two USB receptacles and monitor connection are not internally connected. The requisite companion computer can be connected to these, with no possibility of interference with the normal operation of either device. (Powered by 117 volt AC.)
