Description
Circa Late 1990's to Early 2000's (ESTIMATED)
Designed for high-utility underwater tasks, specifically:
- Game Collection: Used primarily as a "goody bag" or "lobster bag" for collecting catch like lobster, crab, or abalone.
- Gear Organization: Its wide-mouth design allows it to hold mask, fins, and snorkels for transport or boat storage.
- Easy Rinsing: The mesh material allows divers to rinse saltwater and sand off their gear directly through the bag.
Historical Significance:
The Uni-Bag represents UNDERWATER KINETICS' historical shift from traditional aluminum and steel dive gear to high-impact, non-corroding plastic resins. Founded by Alan Uke, the company pioneered the use of "Agent Orange" high-visibility styling and rugged, "indestructible" plastic handles that do not rust or degrade in saltwater environments. The Uni-Bag's "no rust" molded handle became a standard for utilitarian dive accessories, emphasizing durability and simplicity over the complex mechanical latches of the era.
