Use Case:

To provide a high-capacity, portable alternative to the standard floppy disk for both PC and Mac users, without needing an external power supply.

• Portability: The drive was ultra-thin, lightweight, and powered entirely through the computer's USB connection, making it an excellent accessory for the mobile computer user.

• Capacity & Compatibility: It could read and write to both 250 MB and older 100 MB Zip disks, offering significantly more storage than a standard floppy disk (one 250 MB disk held about 170 floppy disks' worth of data).

• Applications: It was used for backing up data, transporting large digital files (music, photos), and accessing applications from removable media.

Historical Significance:

Holds significance as it was the final evolution of the popular Zip drive line before the rise of USB flash drives and cheaper CD-RWs made the format obsolete.

• Power over USB: It represented a key step in hardware convenience by drawing power solely from the USB port, simplifying connectivity and portability by eliminating the need for a separate AC adapter.
