The first consumer-grade all-in-one camcorder and specifically, the first VHS-C camcorder, allowing the recording tape to be inserted directly into the camera unit.

Applications:

Suitable for amateur use, learning institutions and law enforcement applications (video interviews and evidence gathering).

Key Features:

• Recording Format: Records onto VHS-C tapes, which can be played back on standard VHS VCRs using a provided adapter.

• Video Technology: Utilizes a 1/2 inch Hi-Band Saticon pickup tube to produce a 300 horizontal lines resolution.

• Optics: Features a 6x optical zoom lens with both manual and powered zoom capabilities, manual focus, and manual iris control for exposure. It also includes a macro mode for close-up shots.

• Viewfinder and Display: Equipped with a B&W 1/2 inch viewfinder for monitoring footage, which activates upon pressing the record button, and allows for video playback directly in the viewfinder.

• Audio: Records in monaural audio and includes a removable microphone, external microphone, and headphone ports.

• Controls and Functionality: Offers features such as white balance settings for indoor and outdoor shooting, light sensitivity adjustment, manual fade to black, and basic VTR controls like play, pause, record, eject, fast forward, and rewind.

• Power and Connectivity: Can be powered via battery (NB-P5 or NB-P6) or DC cord and offers connections for composite video out, RF out (with optional RF modulator), analog audio out, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

• Accessories: Includes a cold shoe mount for attaching accessories and can use various lens filters or effects.

• Cultural Significance: Famously appeared as Doc Brown's camcorder in the film Back to the Future and also featured in Stranger Things season 2.

PLEASE NOTE: This analog device's audio and video output can be utilized with a digital video monitor or receiver if its outputs are connected to the inputs of an analog-to-digital (A-to-D) Video Convertor—with its converted digital output—connected to the display device's digital input(s).

ADDITIONAL NOTE: This camcorder is designed for use with VHS-C video cassettes. These are physically smaller than the commonly available full-size VHS video cassettes.
