Military Grade Rebreather Unit (Nonfunctional/Simulated)

A custom movie prop manufactured by PROPOLOGY.ca featuring simulated functionality. Designed to portray a military-grade Closed-Circuit Underwater Breathing Apparatus (CCUBA).

Visual Components:

The prop's design mimics several critical real-world rebreather components:

• Dual Breathing Hoses: The large corrugated hoses represent the "loop" that carries gas to and from the diver's mouthpiece.

• Control Interface: The top-mounted panel with status lights and toggle switches simulates the Electronic Control System (ECS) used to monitor partial pressure of oxygen (PPO2) and system battery life.

• External Gas Cylinder: The bottom-mounted black cylinder resembles a high-pressure oxygen or diluent tank, essential for replenishing the breathing gas.

• Chassis: The ruggedized ABS plastic housing is designed to protect the internal scrubber canister and electronics from the high-pressure underwater environment.

How Real Rebreathers Work:

A rebreather is a complex breathing set that recycles exhaled gas rather than discharging it into the environment, as standard "open-circuit" scuba sets do.

• CO2 Scrubbing: The core of the unit would contain a chemical "scrubber" (typically soda lime) to absorb carbon dioxide from every exhaled breath.

• Oxygen Replenishment: Sensors would monitor oxygen levels in the "loop," automatically or manually injecting fresh oxygen to replace what the diver metabolizes.

• Extended Range: Because it recycles unused oxygen, a rebreather is significantly more efficient, allowing for much longer dive times and a lighter, more compact profile than traditional scuba gear.

Tactical Use:

In a military or "stealth" application, this unit would offer:

• No Bubbles: Unlike open-circuit gear, rebreathers do not release exhaust bubbles, making the diver virtually undetectable from the surface.

• Silent Operation: The lack of bubble noise and regulator hiss provides a major tactical advantage for covert operations.
