Description

Circa mid 1990's to Early 2000's

A custom movie prop manufactured by PROPOLOGY.ca featuring simulated functionality. Designed to portray a specialized audio tool for capturing sound from long distances.

Notionally, it incorporates an internal amplifier that provides direct audio monitoring via headset—eliminating the need for external monitoring equipment. If required, an included audio-splitter adaptor provides for simultaneous connection of both a headset and an external audio recorder.

Practical Features:

  • "POWER" LED illuminates when a headset equipped with a 1/4-inch phone plug is inserted into the incorporated headset jack.

Use Cases:

Parabolic microphones are widely used in several professional fields:

  • Surveillance: Law enforcement and security services use them to listen to conversations from safe distances.

  • Wildlife Recording: Ornithologists and nature enthusiasts use them to isolate and record birdsong or animal calls without disturbing the subjects.

  • Sports Broadcasting: They are commonly seen on the sidelines of major sporting events to capture on-field sounds, such as quarterback calls or contact.
