This is a single intercom master station designed to selectively communicate with up to 3 satellite intercom stations (available separately).
Use case:
Provides two-way voice communication between up to three different locations within a home or small business, such as from a kitchen to a remote unit in a bedroom or garage. A person at either station can press a "CALL" button to send an alert tone to the other unit, and then use the "TALK" button to speak, utilizing the same speaker as a microphone.
Historical significance:
A classic example of affordable, consumer-grade home electronics sold through RADIO SHACK's extensive network of stores. It represents a time before modern Wi-Fi and smart devices, when simple, dedicated wired systems provided the convenience of internal communication for families and small offices.
