Description
Circa 1968
A rugged, lightweight, noise-canceling microphone-receiver handset designed for U.S. military tactical field communications. It is the standard handset for use with "PRC" series man-pack radios and vehicular installations.
Operational Use:
The H-250/U is specifically engineered for high-noise combat environments, such as near explosions or heavy machinery, where its noise-canceling technology ensures clear voice transmission. It is compatible with a wide range of military equipment, including:
- Radios: AN/PRC-70, AN/PRC-77, PRC-117, PRC-119, PRC-148, and PRC-150.
- Interchangeability: It can be used as a direct replacement for the older H-189/GR handset.
While originally a military item, surplus H-250/U handsets are often modified by amateur radio enthusiasts for use with civilian radios.
