Use Case:
Wildlife tracking receivers are a specialized piece of equipment used for animal research. A highly sensitive instrument for detecting radio signals from transmitters attached to animals.
Key Components and Functions:
- Antenna Connection Terminals: Screw terminals are provide for the connection of a suitable VHF directional antenna (available separately).
- CHANNEL and TUNE: These controls are used to set the operating frequency to match the specific frequency of a wildlife transmitter (tag).
- GAIN: This knob adjusts the sensitivity of the receiver. Higher gain is typically used to detect faint, distant signals, while lower gain helps with precise directionality when the animal is nearby.
- SIGNAL: An indicator light or display (likely LEDs, in this case) that visually shows the strength of the incoming radio signal.
- EARPHONE: A jack for connecting headphones, which allows the user to audibly hear the pulsed signals from the transmitter, a key part of tracking.
- POWER: The switch to turn the unit on or off.
Accessories Available Separately:
- GLENAYRE Directional Antennas (2-Units available).
- N-Connector to Antenna Terminal Adaptors (2-Units available).
NOTE: 2-Units Available.
