A sensor is used to monitor for refrigerant leaks.

Use Case:

Designed to detect leaks of specific refrigerant gases, such as R-134A (as specified by the R134A on the label), R-22, and R-123, in mechanical rooms or chiller rooms. The sensor is typically installed at a low level near potential leak sources and connects to a main controller (like the HONEYWELL 301EM-20). When a leak is detected, the system activates visual and audible alarms (horns and strobes) and ventilation fans to protect personnel and ensure compliance with safety standards like ASHRAE 15 and CSA-B52.
